When the Dead Milkmen’s debut album “Big Lizard In My Backyard” landed in 1985 it was impossible to predict that it would usher in a phrase that would be forever burned into the general populaces vocabulary. I’m talking, of course, about “BITCHIN’ Camaro”. Virtually everyone I know does not call a Camaro a Camaro. It will forever be a “bitchin'” Camero (even if it’s far from bitchin’). I cannot even attempt to just say Camaro, it’s near impossible. Part of it is because it’s so fun to say, part of it is because it’s such a great tune. Doing a drawing of the Big Lizard driving a Bitchin’ Camaro in an Ed “Big Daddy” Roth style just seemed like a total no-brainer to me! Also take note, it’s an ’85 Camaro (the same year “Big Lizard” came out). Of course the lizard is heading to the shore while blasting Tony, Orlando, and Dawn’s “Tie a Yellow Ribbon ‘Round the Old Oak Tree”. This one was such a joy to draw and I hope you all love it just as much as we do! -Chris Shary
