Mike Watt

Mike Watt’s music has been a huge part of my life since the late 80s. when I was introduced to The Minutemen by an older (cooler) friend as we rode BMX and skated a mini-ramp we built in the woods by our house in rural NC.

In 1992 I was lucky enough to see fIREHOSE a couple times in Raleigh and Chapel Hill.

When we started doing this limited edition merch thing (2009) one of the first people we reached out to was Mike Watt. What resulted was a Minutemen T shirt By Brian Walsby. This was the first of many projects we’ve done with Mr. Watt over the years.

The art for this shirt initially appeared on a skate deck that we worked on with Tim Kerr and Mike earlier this year. We met up with Watt at an mssv show in Charlotte, NC to hang out and get him to sign and number all the boards before we offered them. The boards sold out quickly and we’ve had a lot of requests for a shirt version

So…here you have it: a T shirt featuring the face and artwork of two American treasures who are respected and loved world wide. Mike and Tim have had an enormously positive impact on my life through their music, art, and generosity. I hope you dig this tee. -Charles Cardello/ Bifocal Media
