Product Description
Ferret was an a-hole and complete effer! An icon for snotty young punks who were sick of their parents telling them to clean their room. Originally appearing in the pages of Your Flesh fanzine, Ferret eventually graduated to the tried and true form of the underground mini-comic.
Ferret comics came out of the Minnesota hardcore scene in the early 1980s, complete with a DIY ethic and sensibility. If you have no musical talent, you could still be an active participant in the scene. Bob Mould of Husker Du championed Ferret, as well as Tommy Stinson of The Replacements who wore a ferret t-shirt on Saturday Night Live, as well as David Pirner of Soul Asylum who was seen in the pages of Newsweek wearing one. As Peter Bagge, creator of Hate comics, said “you can’t draw worth a shit, but this is still pretty damn funny! -David Roth
