If you’re reading this, you already know of the overwhelming force that was/is Babes In Toyland. I think everyone involved with Bifocal Media loves this band and I’m proud to be working with them on another project.

My first exposure to Babes was my buddy Jason’s radio show (broadcast out of a single wide trailer in Rocky Mount NC) in 1991. It was around the time of the first Lollapalooza, “Teen Spirit”, and the whole “Alternative” takeover of pop music by bands that didn’t subscribe to the whole Aqua Net, Spandex, craprock thing that dominated commercial rock radio and MTV at the time. I remember feeling a bit weirded out when jocks and cheerleaders started asking me about “moshing” and “stage diving” and Manic Panic hair die. I also remember feeling a bit vindicated by the fact that “Our” music was now the in thing or whatever.

This design originally appeared on Tom Hazelmyer’s posters for an all day art and music event in 2016. The venue (Grumpy’s) is owned and operated by Tom. I found the art online and thought it would make for a great addition to the BFM catalog. The band and Tom agreed, so here you have it. I hope you dig it as much as we do.
