NOMEANSNO

Rich Guns is the first Nomeansno tune I ever heard. I think I was in 11th grade, so it would have been 1991… 12 years after the initial release of MAMA; Nomeansno’s first album. The song was included on a mix tape a good friend made me. It’s likely that I would have chalked Nomeansno up as another (great) band in The Fall, Gang Of Four, Wire camp of jazz tinted post punk had it not been for a 2nd, newer Nomeansno track (Dead Souls) that was also included on the same mix tape. Hearing those two songs, back to back, made me an instant fan of the band as they contained all the ingredients necessary for me to obsess over the music: aggressive energy, compositional surprises, catchy hooks, and a razor sharp wit.

I’ve wanted this shirt, in this color way since high school. After a recent search for it turned up nothing but bootlegs, I reached out to the band and inquired about doing it on Bifocal. They were into it and I’m super happy to be offering 300 of them. Enjoy! –Charles Cardello/ Bifocal Media
