Product Description
Victims Family is a beloved, long-standing; off and on again Bay Area trio with a gigantic history, several albums, and at least three different drummers. A million years ago (in 1987), Victims Family played a show in Raleigh at the beloved Fallout Shelter. I remember them being especially tight and super focused, one song after another. Their first drummer wailed away with a minimal drum kit, which seems to be a tradition for the band.
What do Victims Family sound like? Well, they sound like a lot of different things, are rooted out of punk rock, a little hard rock/metal and some jazz and are kind of impossible to peg down. They are all over the map stylistically. They definitively have a bit in common with another beloved trio: Canada’s NoMeansNo. I hear a wee bit of the Minutemen in there (another trio) as well. That’s not bad company to be associated with!
Over the years when I worked with the Melvins, I would run into bassist Larry Boothroyd at shows and he was always a super nice guy. I did some work for him over the years and that led to this design that features the Larry/Ralph/Tim on drums long-standing lineup. It was fun to draw and we all hope you enjoy this Victims Family t shirt. Thanks to the band and Charles are letting this happen. -Brian Walsby
