Tropical F@#$ Storm

When I got an email from one of my favorite artists (Ron Liberti) asking me what I thought of the Australian band Tropical Fuck Storm, my first reaction was “I definitely like their name”. Aside from that, I had nothing to offer as I was criminally ignorant to the band’s existence. Ron went on to inform me that this band was (as the name suggests) a force of nature, and that he was working on album art for them.

I immediately started digging around, looking for some TFS tunes and info on the group. Neither of which was hard to come by, as these guys seem to be on everyone’s favorite list at the moment. The hype is well earned… Tropical Fuck Storm is unclassifiably amazing.

It’s hard to pin down just what makes these songs so infectious, and habit forming. They are all a bit unhinged in a PERFECT sort of way. As I started writing this I made a lame list of words that come to mind when listening to TFS. They read as follows: “Scary”, “Noise Rock”, “Joyous”, “Weird”, “Art Punk”, “Crooning”, “Pop”, “Refreshing”. If you’re reading this, you probably know exactly what these folks are about already.

In TFC, I have found a new band to obsess over and I’m more than excited to be collaborating with them and an artist (Ron) whom I love on this shirt. -Charles Cardello/ Bifocal Media.
