Voivod

Voivod are a band that refuses to be pigeonholed and refuses to stop. They are super unique in the metal world, but to a larger extent they are unique as a band itself. Totally marching to the sound off their own drummer, they have been surprising folks since the mid 80’s with a unusual blend of sci-fi and progressive metal. As an artist, I simply could not ignore the bold Korgull The Exterminator logo originally drawn up by drummer Michel “Away” Langevin. Korgull is raw and technical, scary and primitive all at the same time. I love how over the years Korgull has mutated and yet still remains recognizable. I figured if he has a tendency to change, why not try my hand at him? I absolutely loved trying to re-imagine him using my visual language. What I hope has happened, is that I have created a kick ass Voivod shirt that doesn’t look too far off from something Away would have drawn himself. It is truly an honor to be adding this image to the Voivod catalogue of work. I could not be more thrilled, and cannot wait to finally have a cool looking shirt for the next time I see Charger in the Bay Area (if you know, you know). -Chris Shary
