A lot of people aren’t aware that a few of the biggest bands in the world had their humble beginnings in Greenville, NC. Members of The Avett Brothers, Future Islands, & Valient Thorr all walked the same halls & played shows with each other back at East Carolina University.
“Scott Avett (of The Avett Brothers) & me & Nitewolf (of Valient Thorr) have been making art together since way back in ’97. I’m super psyched to have done this Blackbeard’s spaceship shirt for them. To me it represents a piece of North Carolina that has rocketed into the stratosphere. All hail the “Queen Anne’s Revenge” and all hail The Avett Brothers.
