Product Description
Generally speaking, I am not the type of person to walk around consciously considering every “core memory” within my life. I don’t recall the triumph of my first steps, the wind in my hair from my first ever bike ride, i have no fond inner warmth upon reminiscing of my first slice of cherry pie…but i do remember very well the first time I heard Watt on bass.
One of the first bands I was ever in was in our drummers garage recording our second demo. This local legend named Jere was recording it. Sweetest guy in the world. He was sweating his ass off that day because just the night before, his house had been robbed and all his Tascam equipment had been stolen. He had borrowed the recording stuff he was using on that day and we somehow managed to squeak it out. However during those blazing hot summer sessions, he asked me if I had ever heard of Minutemen and that some of my guitar playing reminded him of D. Boon. The next day I went straight into the tape section of the music store and got into it! Watt’s bass playing just hit home with me as did the entire powerhouse of the band. I became a dedicated fan and every mixtape from then on had at least one…maybe two….possibly three Minutemen songs included.
Spin around to present day and I think this is my favorite Watt shirt that I’ve been able to do yet. Thanks for supporting everything that goes down here on the Bifocal Media ship. –Evil Jay, Tokyo
