Around the age of 13 (1988) I figured out that most of the people I got along with, had things in common with, or was inspired by, shared my obsessive love of art and music. Rather than background noise, Music was/ Is part of my identity, my social life, and my career. In addition to being something “nice to look at” art has also shaped the person I am in every aspect; from hobbies, to the way I dress, to my livelihood. Here we have a perfect example of two relative entities that I find vigorously inspiring: John Yates and NoMeansNo.
This design originally appeared on the back of NoMeansNo’s “Live + Cuddly” album. I thought it would make for a cool T-shirt design.
