Dead Bob

When I was in high school (1990) my dear friend and Bifocal Media co-founder Jay Holmes made me a mix tape featuring the Nomeansno songs “Rich Guns” and “Dead Souls”. This was my introduction to the music of the Wright brothers (John and Rob) and their precise, unique, and explosive approach to punk rock.

When we started doing these limited edition shirts (around 2009) Nomeansno was at the top of my list of bands to work with. We eventually made a connection with John through artist Abe Brennan and we’ve managed to work together on various projects over the past few years. To say this is exciting for me would be an understatement. Nomeansno’s music has been a big part of the soundtrack of my life.

When John informed me that he was working on a solo project, I was quick to pester him for a preview. The demos he sent over where everything I expected. Honestly, he could have just called “Life Like” a new Nomeansno record and their massive and dedicated fan base would have been totally thrilled with the results. Instead, John opted to release this new material under the “Dead Bob” moniker. Fans will still be stoked.

Now, it’s time to get “stoked” on this new, exclusive “Dead Bob” t-shirt illustrated by John himself. It features artwork from the newly released “Life Like” album and I can’t wait to wear it. -Charles Cardello/ Bifocal Media
