What were you doing in 1982? If you were in the Indiana punk band The Zero Boys, you put out your debut album, Vicious Circle; a tuneful, well produced and snappy proto-hardcore punk recording with great songs throughout. Then you drove to the West Coast to play shows in Los Angeles, where Ed Colver, the famous Los Angeles photographer, took a photo that no one would see until what…forty years later? Yeah, that’s it.

I stumbled across this photo, thought it was really cool looking (with the four of them looking tough and trying to stare down the camera), and decided to draw my version of those young kids from Indiana. After talking to Charles from Bifocal, Paul Mahern, (the Zero Boys lead singer) and Ed Colver himself about making this a shirt for Bifocal Media, we all decided it was a good idea. So here it is! We hope you enjoy this, and I would like to thank Paul, Ed, and Charles for making this happen. Cheers! -Brian Walsby
