Poison Idea

When fundamental politics and critical thought are ignored (or considered weak or impolite) as a norm; we end up with a culture in which short term comfort (both mental and physical) becomes the only driving factor in the psyche of our population. Ideals become a larger priority than the pursuit of experience, knowledge, and facts.

Living this way inevitably lands many people in uncomfortable circumstances. Many of them, rather than look within or try to figure out what got them in the situation in which they find themselves, look for someone to blame for their unhappiness. In the process they try to push others down so they might get an advantage… or at the very least, feel better about themselves.

Loud opinions and violent actions based on ignorance, fear, hatred, and misinformation don’t make you strong or edgy or smart. They make you an Ugly American.
