The Last

Okay– I’m pretty excited about this one. The Last records have been a staple on my turntable in my home for as long as I can remember. I can put on their music anytime any day and it gets me right in the guts. I had created this artwork originally with a tribute style to the pulp days of comics….the kind that I used to walk into the back of cigar shops in Cincinnati as a kid and get lost in for hours. The smell of the paper, the sweet cheap cherry tobacco, the dark lights,the sounds of the cars outside on the streets…these sort of synapse-stroking memory jolt shit me when I hear LA Explosion and when I find myself crooning along to the lyrics of lost times that seemed more innocent; or dancing around the room to the wham-bam throttle of Slave Driver.
