Dead Milkmen

Takin’ mushrooms, tellin’ weird jokes, and blowin’ people’s minds…this was my things-to-do list when I was a kid. Rollin’ down the street on a flat banana board about to hit some trouble when the college radio fuzzes out to the sounds of The Dead Milkmen. Now my minds melted…and I’m losing it. It’s not often you get to jolt down the tunnel years later and jet off to the warm friendly streets of Philadelphia with your best friend in a car hauling a ton of skateboard decks and meeting the band themselves and sharing potential grip-tape space with our scrawly signatures.

There never was a larger pile of lizard malarkey than the old “can’t go back” cliche. I have vivid 30 year old memories cruising around my tiny home town with “Evil” Jay…Listening to Beelzebuba, laughing uncontrollably, and acting like complete idiots. I also have vivid memories from around 30 hours ago. This time Jay and I were driving from Raleigh, NC to Philadelphia with a carload of Dead Milkmen skate decks that we produced together.
