Beloved artist Michael Roman (1956-2018) created his influencial ‘lattisimo all-over-style’ in New York/San Francisco/Oaxaca Mexico in the 1980/1990’s. ‘Working extensively with Madonna, (see Desperately Seeking Susan), Carlos Santana, the John Coltrane Memorial Church and Reggae Artist Sister Carol, he created signature outfits and environments.

As it turns out, Kate Razo (Michael’s partner and heir to his estate) is an old punker (see the infamous Yeastie Girlz) as well as an established painter, art dealer, and gallery operator. She’s also incredibly gracious and cool. That leads us to this beautiful Michael Roman design that we are offering for your enjoyment. Hopefully there will be many more Roman T-shirt designs in the future as I’m really excited about wearing his art. -Charles Cardello/ Bifocal Media.  

These stenciled skulls were featured in Madonna’s 1985 film ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’, and they’ve lived on as a totem for the Oaxacan Dia de los Muertos annual celebration that Michael Roman attended and participated in for many years. Own a piece of history! -Kate Razo
