Sense Field

Back in 1987 I was putting together some DIY comp cassette tapes. I think I made 4 different ones. I wrote bands asking for demos based on things I had read about them in Flipside and MRR. I got in touch with some great people who (like me) were kinda just starting out. Jon Bunch sent me a demo of his new band Reason to Believe and I loved it so much I put them on 2 comps. RTB was incredible and Jon was so kind and giving. We wrote back and forth for a few years, and as RTB disintegrated, I was thrilled to hear he was doing another band called Sense Field. I fell in love all over again, and mainly it was thanks to Jon Bunch’s great lyrics and smooth crooning. He was a brilliant frontman. I had spoken with him about doing some art, but in those Revelation Records days they really had that area locked down. Still I hoped. When Jon passed away in 2016 the idea of a tribute shirt popped up but nothing came of it. ‘Fast forward to this year… my thoughts returned to Jon and Sense Field and after a few email discussions with guitarist Rodney Sellars we came up with this. It is with great pride that Bifocal Media presents this official Sense Field shirt for those of you, like myself, who love and miss Jon and this band.
