Product Description
In early 1994 a friend of mine showed up at my apartment with Antioch Arrow’s “In Love With Jets” LP (Their 2nd). I’d heard their first record and I dug it. There was a crew of us sitting around playing Mortal Combat or something and he just threw it on the turntable. I wish I could say my initial reaction was a positive one, but I believe it was something more to the tune of “What in the unholy F is this?!”.
In retrospect, I realize “In Love with Jets”, was a bit too “out there” for my teenage brain to handle. After a while, it grew on me and by the time their third record “Gems Of Masochism” came out, I was more than eager to shell out $12.00 bucks for the sparkly jeweled CD version that I still own today.
I’m not entirely sure what Antioch Arrow was going for, but to say that their approach was trailblazing would be a bit of an understatement. Their performances were even wilder than their records and it wasn’t long before a legion of Spock haired, white belted, high water pant wearing punks were everywhere. It’s safe to say that most of the early Bifocal output was influenced by this band.
After hearing Aaron on a recent episode of Justin Pearson’s “Cult And Culture” podcast. I listened to “In Love With Jets” again via the BFM office Spotify account. That’s when I noticed that the reissue of the record had new artwork… THIS artwork. It’s a painting Arron did over 20 years ago and I thought it would make for an amazing shirt… Aaron agreed and here you have it. I hope you’re as excited about this one as we are! -Charles Cardello/ Bifocal Media
