Product Description
October is my favorite month….the leaves, the temps…Halloween of course.
This year, it’s also a month when people in Asheville, North Carolina are grieving, clearing, and trying to find the strength to rebuild. So this year’s Halloween offering, “Aichmophobia” is dedicated to them, with all my proceeds from this special limited edition shirt going to help there – in particular , to help my fellow artists in the area through the River Arts District Artists Foundation. Over 80% of the River Arts District was destroyed by Hurricane Helene – 80%, destroyed. It’s going to take a lot of creative energy to rebuild, but Asheville, you’ve got that in spades.
Aichmophobia – a fear of knives and sharp things. While it may be an honor for a pumpkin to become a jack-o-lantern versus just a pie, that knife coming at your face has to be traumatic. Aichmophobia was the first of my phobic pumpkins; there’s been many since. This one holds a special place in my heart.
Two more things…we’re making the edition bigger this year, 200 limited edition shirts will be available. Why? Cause we’re just doing one design, and because it’s a benefit to help forget a hurricane.
Lastly, the shirt’s a little late because our partner Bifocal Media is located in the Asheville area. They’re okay, back to being up and running and continuing to be a champion for good and good causes, like this one, but we ask for a little patience with shipping this go round. You can find a few more of my designs on their site by the way, stock is very limited.
Happy Halloween. Here’s to no rocks in your bag, unless you are a fan of rocks, like I am. -Chris Mars
