My first exposure to The Replacements came courtesy of a story on MTV news in the early 90s. Like legions of other folks with good taste, I’m a huge fan of that band. Chris Mars was their drummer and that was his initial claim to (almost) fame.

A couple years ago, I was introduced to Chris’ wife Sally by an artist that we work with (Thomas Hazelmyer). As it turns out, Chris and Sally had founded an organization called Mutt Mutt Engine that rescues abandoned dogs and finds them homes. They needed a shirt, and I was more than happy to produce and sell them. Sally said that the original logo for Mutt Mutt Engine had been a painting by Chris. This lead me to explore Chris’ artwork; and OH MY, what an amazing body of work it is!

To date, we’ve produced a ton of work with Chris and Sally and I’m happy to say that Chris continues to produce and record really great music. Case in point: his new record “The Average Album“. Here’s a shirt featuring Chris’ artwork from the record. I highly recommend checking it out. -Charles/ Bifocal Media
