Fishbone

In 1991 I got a CD player and the very first CD I wanted was Fishbone’s “Truth and Soul”. In my mind, it is a perfect album from start to finish. Powerful and playful lyrics, all set to the most manic dance music imaginable. It is a very hard album to beat. Now, of course, seeing the band in the late 80’s early 90’s was a whole ‘nother level of intensity. Absolutely no one could touch them as a live entity. No one. I saw them dozens of times back then as it seemed they were constantly touring, and one of the things Angelo would do was this hand gesture featured in the shirt design. I can clearly picture him throwing the sign chanting “Fish…..BONE!!!!!!”. The image is burned in my brain.

Flash forward to a few years back and my good pal Mark Phillips was asked to join the band on guitar. I was so proud of him (still am) and of course I had to see the band again. Not only do they still have it, but they still put on one of the best shows imaginable. Seeing them this last new year, I sweat so much that I permanently stained the shirt I was wearing! No kidding. I was reminded of what a powerful band Fishbone are and I pushed for this shirt to happen. You cannot imagine how thrilled I am to share my love of FISHBONE with this shirt. While I’d love for you to pick this up, I also cannot stress how much you should see the band again and pick up their latest EP. It’s last years hidden gem! FISHBONE IS RED HOT!!!!! -Chris Shary
