NOMEANSNO

A few years ago this poster image showed up on a Nomeansno fan page. I loved the art, but it was from a show in France from 2011. I had no idea who the artist was, no idea if the band knew about it, and no hopes of turning it into an official shirt design.

Last week there was another post on the Nomeansno fan page. This time is was an individual asking if they knew anything about a bootleg shirt ad featuring this exact same poster art. The artist (using their real name) was not pleased that the image was used without their (or the band’s) permission. Bootlegging sucks, BUT… now we had a contact for the artist! I was planning to reach out to the individual when I returned home (I was out of town) but before I even got the chance, John Wright emailed me asking if I knew anything about the image and If I could find the artist and ask about making this an official NMN shirt. I did, and low and behold it turned out the artist was TANXXX; The famed French illustrator and comic artist!

So… here you have a limited edition Nomeansno T shirt By Tanxxx. It’s beyond killer and everyone involved gets credit, gets paid, and is super excited that the stars aligned to make this one happen. Enjoy!!! -Charles Cardello/ Bifocal Media
