The late Reed Mullin used to tell everyone, “This is the best band from the South”. Honor Role (From Richmond, VA) existed from late 1982 until 1989. They continue to be a majestic and very influential band that not a lot of people seem to know about. Those who do know about them tend to be fanatics. ‘Great songs, great playing, great lyrics, all post hardcore, all vital, all amazing!

Honor Role’s debut album THE PRETTY SONG, featured the lineup of Pen Rollings, Bob Schick, Steve Schick, and Chip Jones. I consider it one of the greatest albums released during the latter part of the eighties. ‘One of the best of all time. If ever an album deserves to be reevaluated and re released, it’s this one; but that is a story for another time. For now this t shirt design will have to do.

The band’s long-standing buddy and graphic designer: Doug Dobey has undergone some health challenges in recent times and I thought (as did the band members) that we might offer up some of the profits from this tee to help out with medical bills. With that in mind, here you go:  complete with some Doug Dobey colors (straight from the album) on a black t shirt. I thank the members of the band, Doug himself, and Charles for allowing this to happen. Maybe that THE PRETTY SONG reissue will be in the horizon next. It really should happen. Anyways, thanks! -Brian Walsby
