When I was around 11 I was completely obsessed with skateboarding (as much as I am now), but I could not find much skate related stuff. It was pretty small and underground where I am from (back then). Therefore, I was craving into anything that could minimally relate to it and starting to get hints of the culture from other skaters I saw from time to time and (mostly) from movies like Thrashin, Gleaming the Cube, or Police Academy 4. I was also amazed with the graphics, and when I got my first magazines I linked some of the incredible graphics I saw in the movies with the ones appearing on those pages. That´s how I discovered the Bones Brigade and from that point on I was hooked to skateboard culture for life.

Then, few years later, I got into punk rock and I discovered its connections with skateboarding. I listened once to “Skate and Destroy” by The Faction and I thought it was the coolest tune ever, fast, aggressive and with lots of attitude,  that song sounded like pure skateboarding to me! When I realized that it was an all-skater band where every member ripped and that Steve Caballero, coolest dude, rad skater and one of the most prominent members of the Bones Brigade, was their guitar player, that blew my mind! I went deeper into the band and I became hooked to their raw sound that I think sums up one of the most impostant eras in punk rock and skateboarding. So I am so thankful and excited of having get the chance to design this t-shirt for The Faction, feeling that I could collaborate with a band that has been a big inspiration for me in so many levels and that reminds me of the pure essence of skateboarding in those early days. One of the things that I regret the most is not having been able to see them live! -Darwin Drawin, Spain
