Filth Is Eternal

It’s 2024 and there’s no shortage of amazing and hard hitting music that’s been a welcome addition to my listening over the past few months; and Filth Is Eternal are a goldmine. Whilst starting out as a respectable crusty hardcore band, their newest material has adopted a much wider sonic palette that sees the band finding the value of shape and space within their structure. The hook and the beauty found within a simple formula that effortlessly blends and blurs a few different influences into one coherent beast. The songs are killer and seem to have a somewhat unusual infusion of Nirvana, Megadeth, Alice In Chains, L7, Hole but imagine all those bands run through a grindcore filter. Straight and direct surgical cuts…precision sharp and to the point. 1.5 minutes of “You want a piece of this? bang bang bang!!” and they are out. You want icing on that cake? Here it is: the production on these songs is incredible; allowing ample aural real estate for the instruments and a gorgeous tone on these awesome vocals. There’s even a slightly atmospheric touch (which I think is handled with just enough balance)…Overall, a super strong effort from a band that I think is on the cusp of even greater things.I’ve listened to their songs on repeat all of this year so far and so stoked to be working with the band on this new shirt.
