Mutoid Man

I met Stephen Brodsky when I set up a show for his band (Cave In) in the ‘90s. I filmed the show and that performance ended up in Bifocal Media #1 (The Actuality Of Thought Video) which came out in 1998. In 2012, Stephen teamed up with Converge drummer Ben Koller and Mutoid Man was formed.

To say that Mutoid Man’s music is “dense” would be an understatement. Saying their tunes are “heavy” would be a conservative description. Are they fast as F#$%?…Uh Huh! Catchy?… Check! In Mutoid Man, we have a band comprised of members from Cave In, Converge, and High On Fire. Throw in a heavy handed dash of tongue in cheek humor and the result is exactly what you might expect… It’s overwhelmingly great! If you’re reading this, you’re likely already a fan.

I’ve been a close friend and fan of “Evil” Jay since high-school. He was part of the early Bifocal family as part owner. He also played in the almighty band The Ladderback; for whom we released 3 full length albums on Bifocal as well as Fever Moon which is responsible for our latest LP offering (FVRMN “Back To The Whip” LP).  Jay moved to Tokyo in the early 2000s, but we’ve remained close friends and we’ve continued to work together on various projects.
